A Turkish towel may not be absorbent if it hasn't been washed a few times, as the natural fibers need to be broken in to reach their full absorbency. Additionally, fabric softeners or dryer sheets can leave a residue on the fibers, reducing their ability to absorb water. To enhance absorbency, try washing the towel with a small amount of vinegar and avoid using fabric softeners.
