Level 1 and level 2 isolation gowns are classified based on their liquid barrier protection. Level 1 gowns offer minimal protection and are suitable for basic care activities with low risk of fluid exposure, such as during standard patient care. Level 2 gowns provide a higher level of protection, suitable for situations with moderate risk of fluid exposure, such as during blood draws or in the Intensive Care Unit, where there is a greater chance of encountering bodily fluids.
