To become a U.S. mailman, or postal carrier, you need to be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and pass a written exam that tests your knowledge of mail handling procedures. Additionally, you must pass a background check, drug screening, and have a valid driver's license if the position requires driving.
